Bouncy, Bouncy, Bouncy...

For Sayer's 2nd birthday Mike and I got him a 55" trampoline. When it arrived and was assembled it was much larger than I imagined it would be, but it is perfect for our little man!! We let him have it a week before his birthday, because at his age, time doesn't mean a thing.

Daddy zipping Sayer into the trampoline...

Daddy showing him how to bounce...

All the while Greyson is busy exploring his big brother's golf set. That kept him occupied while Sayer bounced away and giggled hysterically!

La la la la, Sayer's World!

Sayer's 2nd Birthday was an Elmo themed birthday party! Everyone was asked to wear their favorite Elmo t-shirt... others chose to wear different Elmo attire. Mimi wore Elmo slippers, Aunt KiKi wore an Elmo stocking cap and Uncle J wore an Elmo hat!

Sayer and Mimi with the life-size Elmo balloon.

Greyson not quite sure what to think of the life-size Elmo balloon...

The Elmo cupcakes were a big hit with all of the kids...

And the hats were a bigger success than I thought they would be...

Adrienne and Sayer gearing up for a hug...

almost...
almost...
here it is...
Now when Sayer looks at these pictures and we ask him who his girlfriend is he says... Adrienne. He even tried to hug and kiss the her on the computer screen the other evening. Too funny!!

Thank you everyone for helping to make Sayer's 2nd birthday so special!

Happy 2nd Birthday Sayer!

What could be better on your 2nd birthday than coming home from your school holiday party to find a bouquet of balloons from Grandpa and Mimi and Uncle Jason waiting for you? I'm not sure what Sayer was more excited about... the balloons or seeing Uncle J (just kidding - I know without a doubt that it was seeing Uncle J)!

We had a little preview of the Elmo party that was to be... Sayer wore the Elmo hat that Aunt Heidi bought Uncle J to wear at Sayer's party. He thought that was pretty fun!

And he opened birthday presents from Mommy and Daddy and Ms. JoDe.

Sayer - I cannot believe how fast this past year has gone. It doesn't seem like that long ago that we were celebrating your first birthday. You have grown up so much this past year. You went from walking to running and running FAST!! You are so independent and you are constantly surprising mommy and daddy with everything that you know. You are a sponge... soaking up everything around you. You are all boy... you LOVE football and you love to wrestle and rough house with Daddy! You are kind and gentle with your little brother, even though you may not always show the same kind of patience and kindness to your peers. Right now everything is "MINE" and sharing is hard. But, you are a loving toddler and when I tell you that I love you and you whisper back I love you Mommy, my heart melts! You are the light of my life and you will always be my baby... even as you grow bigger and older! I have to hold tight to all of these precious moments and birthdays because they are going too fast. Happy 2nd Birthday son. I love you to the moon and back! Mommy

Sayer's Holiday Party

Having a birthday one week before Christmas means that you share your special day with lots of other holiday parties and celebrations. This year Sayer's Holiday Party at school happened to fall on his birthday. Of course, at this age he doesn't know the difference, but I do and I wanted to try to make it extra special for my little man. So, I rolled a little of his birthday and a little of the holiday party into one and had this special Elmo cupcake treat made for his class! The kiddos LOVED it!
It amazes me how the teachers in Sayer's room are able to get 16 two year old kids to sit still in their chairs as they wait for their holiday treats. And treats they had... cupcakes, cookies on a stick, chips, carrots, candy, juice boxes! Sayer ate and ate and ate!

After the treats they had a book exchange. So, they sat on the floor and unwrapped their presents... each child anxious to see what was under the paper. And each child just as anxious to see what their friends had opened too...

What a fun start to Sayer's 2nd birthday weekend...

Sayer's First Holiday Program

Mike and I sit anxiously awaiting Sayer's class performance, not knowing if he will break down in tears and not sing a word of the songs we have practiced for weeks or if he will thrive at the excitement of an auditorium full of people watching...

he is one of two children holding the teachers hand as he walks on stage and I think uh oh...

then they start singing "Where is Santa?" and all of a sudden he comes out of his shell and he starts performing... the louder they laugh the more entertaining he becomes...

he does a shuffle across the stage in front of the entire class, then grabs his set of bells and shakes them hard as he sings "Jingle Bells" at the top of his lungs...

afraid of the stage... not my son! Mommy and Daddy and Grammy and Mimi and Aunt KiKi and Emma clap and shout at the end. I think we have an entertainer on our hands!

Sayer and Daddy and Emma watching the rest of the holiday program.

Playing with Grandpa!

There is nothing that I love more than watching Sayer wrestle with his Grandpa! To hear them both giggle and laugh is something that brings pure joy to my heart and a smile to my face. I think it's because it helps me remember all of those fun times that Jason and I had wrestling around with my grandpa when we were kids. Thank god for grandpas!
