Happy 45th Anniversary Kent and Nedra!

Kent, Nedra and little Gracie came in town Monday to visit for the week. We were all excited to see Grammy and Poppa... it had been since the beginning of December!

On Tuesday evening we had dinner at our house to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary. Kelly prepared the meal of filet mignon, giant prawns the size of mini lobsters and risotto with a mushroom cream sauce (I love when she plans the menu). She is an AWESOME cook!

After dinner mom and dad helped entertain the kiddos, with the help of cartoon network, so we could visit with Kent and Nedra.

Today, Mike and I took the day off of work so we could spend some additional time with his parents. We did quite a bit of shopping and eating! We tried out Grinders, which was featured on Food Networks show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. It was an eclectic "hole in the wall" that provided much to talk about. The walls were covered with artwork (that's what they called it anyway) and Emma and I sat in airplane seats while Mike and Kelly sat in the seat of a car to eat our lunch! It was definitely a unique establishment with good food.

All About Family...

This weekend was all about family! Saturday night we had dinner with everyone in Liberty. The little nutballs were wound up and very excited to see one another, as they always are!

On Sunday, the girls made a road trip to Columbia to see Jason (he's on tour with Martina McBride). We were able to spend a few hours visting - which was great! Even though J and I talk at least a couple of times a week, it is ALWAYS good to see him in person.
Martina put on an AWESOME show and we were lucky enough to have floor seats only 4 rows from the stage. She is impressive to watch... for such a little woman she has one powerful voice. And, I must say, the camera work was pretty good too! I don't know how Jason holds that camera for the entire show... my neck and back would be killing me!

Diddle Dubbies

Diddle Dubbies (aka Gus) as Mike and Emma Grace like to refer to him is so cute! He loves to sit like a "little man" in the chair... he tucks his hind legs under and he rests his front leg on the arm of the chair. I have never in my life seen a dog sit like he does. What a cute little boy!

Additions to the Reik Bar!

Mike and I have the entire bar area decorated with antique sports equipment. We found a couple of antique Illinois pennants at a Flea Market a couple of years ago and I finally got around to getting them framed. Of course, I had to find a vintage Missouri pennant to go along with them! And... I got a fabulous idea from the Searcey's - vintage collegiate football programs. I've been rather lucky on e-bay (my new addiction) lately and have won bids on three UofI and 2 MU programs. I think all of these new additions to our bar are FABULOUS!
