Sayer, Aunt Stacy and Lily

Sunday everyone came over for family dinner and Aunt Stacy got to spend some much needed "babytime" bonding with Sayer Michael...

she and Lilybug gave him a bath...

then fed him his bottle before bedtime...

then played peek-a-boo...

Sayer is such a lucky little man for being loved so much! I love you Aunt Stacy and Lily!

Sayer Visits Mommy at Work!

On Friday MiMi brought Sayer to work to visit Mommy! They visited for a couple of hours and gave Mommy a much needed break in the day. Thank you MiMi.

CRAZY EYES!

Baby Legs...

I don't know how many of you are familiar with Baby Legs, but they leg warmers for babies. I know - I know - if you are anything like my husband you are wondering why I would dress my baby boy in leg warmers.

Need I say more? How can you not think that these are cute? They are adorned with skull and crossbones - and he has another pair adorned with flames that his Aunts bought him. TOUGH LITTLE MAN - even with leg warmers on!

3 Months / St. Patricks Day!

Not only was Tuesday St. Patricks Day, but Sayer also turned 3 months old! I am amazed at how fast these three months have passed. He is growing like crazy... up to 16+ pounds on the scale last I checked and is definitely getting taller as not many 0-3 or 3-6 month clothes fit him in length. He is exploring and discovering new things everyday. Mike and I could sit and just watch him for hours on end as he finds his voice and his hands... AMAZING!

Tuesday was a gorgeous day here and when I got to Mimi's after work to pick him up this is what I found. He was sound asleep on the front porch enjoying the weather. What an adorable sight - I didn't want to wake him up to take him home.

And this is the best picture I could get in his St. Paddy's Day onesie... he spit up all over it before I could get a "good" picture of him awake. Oh well! Mike and I are taking him to Portrait Innovations on Saturday to have his 3 month pictures taken. I'll post them once we have them. Let's cross our fingers that he's a good little buddy that day!

We played in the Bumbo for awhile Tuesday night. He is definitely getting more controlled and seems to enjoy sitting on the countertop looking around while we are busy in the kitchen!

Exersaucer Fun!

On Sunday Daddy decided that it was time to put together the Exersaucer so Sayer could begin to enjoy it! Little did he know that it would have a trillion parts.

He finally got it put together and we put Sayer in... at first he didn't know what to think of all the music and moving parts, but after a while he really seemed to enjoy it.

It's amazing how much more alert and excited he is day after day. Things are really starting to catch his eye and he smiles and laughes a lot at the music and toys on the exersaucer.

Girls Basketball State Finals

Saturday, the PCHS Girls Basketball team played in the State Finals in Columbia.

We took a roadtrip with the Searceys to watch them play. All six of us loaded into the Lexus... Daddies in the front, Slayton and Sayer in the middle seat and Jonalee and I in the third row seat. What a trip!

Actually, the babies were extremely good. Sayer slept the entire way there and Slayton slept most of the way, then woke up and was pretty happy. The boys slept the entire way home too! No complaints from the parents!
Sayer really seemed to enjoy the game. He sat for a long time on my lap, then on Mike's looking at everything around him. I think he loved the lights and noise.

The girls won their game 81 to 75... what an accomplishment! The very first Girls Basketball State Championship in the history of the school. Way to go PCHS girls!

By the end of the game Sayer was sound asleep.

Slayton at dinner after the game... what a cutie!

Hanging with the little man!

Mommy's back to work...

Today was the day that I have been dreading for the past few weeks, not because I wasn't a little bit anxious to get back to work and into the daily routine, but because I was going to have to leave my baby boy for the entire day.

We are lucky / blessed to have a unique situation where Mimi is going to keep Sayer at her house. That said, I didn't have near the anxiety as others experience leaving him at a daycare center. I know that he will be loved, cuddled, cared for and spoiled rotten by her! That warms my heart and I wouldn't want it any other way!

Thanks Mom for taking care of our little buddy! Sorry you didn't get much done today - hopefully things will get better as the two of you settle into a routine. We love you!
And to my wonderful husband who sent flowers to work today... THANK YOU! Being surprised with that delivery made being away from my baby and getting through close to 4000 e-mails a little easier. I love you babe!
"Ashley - Hope this brightens your day. Sayer and I love you so much. Mimi will take good care of our little buddy. All my love - Mike"

Bumbo Time

Here is Sayer in his Bumbo this morning. We try to put him in it daily so he can practice holding his head up and steady. He is doing a really good job and is definitely beginning to gain more control. I can't believe how big he's getting to be.

I only have three more days before I am back to work and maternity leave is over. I can't believe how fast 12 weeks went by. I am ready to get back to work, but I am sad to think about being away from Sayer all day long. It's going to be really hard to go back on Thursday. Thank goodness my first week back is short - only Thursday and Friday.

Hanging out with Daddy!

Sayer 2 1/2 months

Visit with Carol and the Family

One of my favorite teachers lives in Tennessee near Jason, so every time we make a trip down we try to meet up with her for a visit. This time we were able to go to her house for dinner with she and her family! I was so happy that Sayer was able to meet Carol and David, Mammy, Ross and Carson while we were in Tennessee!

Thanks for the book, nightlight, dinner and visit. We had fun!

Opryland Hotel

Jason is helping with a music video for Dierks Bentley this week, so while we were visiting he had to visit the location for the shoot at the Opryland Hotel. We tagged along with him and took advantage of walking through the gardens at the hotel. If you have never been there, it is a sight to see! There are so many beautiful gardens in the atriums and there is a river that flows through as well.

Loveless Cafe

Mike and I are HUGE Food Network and Travel Channel junkies, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that we made a visit to The Loveless Cafe while in Nashville. They are famous for their biscuits and the biscuit lady Carol who has been making biscuits there from scratch for over 30 years. She is the only person who knows the recipe and she says the key ingredient is her hands!

I had to get my picture with Carol just for my hubby since he wasn't able to make the trip with us. Well, the biscuits are to die for! It was well worth the trip!

Visit with Uncle J

While we were visiting Uncle Jason we primarily hung out at his house and played with Sayer. Jason soon learned how much Sayer loves the TV. Even though he isn't supposed to be watching it, it was hard to keep him from looking at it when we had it on!

I noticed that if Uncle J had Sayer and he began to fuss he would quiet him down by putting him over his shoulder and backing him up to the TV. That's one way to do it!

First Plane Ride

On Tuesday Sayer had his very first plane ride and got his first set of wings!

Mom, Dad, Sayer and I flew to Nashville to visit Uncle J for a few days while Daddy went to Arizona to golf. Sayer did an excellent job on the flight (both coming and going). He took a bottle during take-off then slept the rest of the flight. People around me commented on what a great job he did. No distruptions - AWESOME!
