Playing Outside

Lately we have been spending a lot of time outside. Sayer LOVES riding on his 4-wheeler, learning to ride his tricycle, taking rides in his wagon and playing with his golf club and bat. And of course he loves playing with any any every kind of ball... baseball, golf ball, basketball and football!

Just Because... Mommy loves me!

This little angel brightens my day everyday. I am going to miss spending all day with him when I go back to work this week!

Jared giving Sayer a ride in his new Razor! Sayer loved it! I have a feeling this was the first of many rides to come! Oh Boy!!

Happy 8th Birthday Emma Grace!

Last Saturday we helped Emma Grace celebrate her 8th birthday!

I can hardly believe my oldest niece turned eight. That means that Mike and I have been together eight years as we met when Emma Grace was only a few months old. I remember meeting her for the first time and holding her in my arms and thinking what a beautiful baby girl she was. She is still just as beautiful as the first time I met her. She is smart and thoughtful and patient and she loves Sayer just like he was her brother.

Ummie Mike and I love you to pieces Emma Grace!

Here are some pictures of her party with lots of family and friends!

Sayer loved playing in the baby pool with his cousin Finley and running through the dragon sprinkler.

Slayton and Sayer playing in the ball pit!

Sayer sitting at the big table with the big kids. He crawled right up in the chair by himself and sat there quietly waiting on his cupcake. Then he dug into that cupcake as if he were re-enacting his first birthday party! My son has a sweet tooth just like I do!

Priceless Moments...

I love capturing priceless moments on film.
Like those moments when Grammy's sit on the floor with their grandbabies!

So hot!

What is it about kids that makes them completely oblivious to heat indexes over 100 degrees? One of the hottest days of the year and all Sayer wants to do is go "side"! So, Daddy took him outdoors to play with his balls and cars and golf clubs and when Daddy got too hot Mommy went out to pull him around in his wagon. One lap around the cul-de-sac and Mommy was too hot to stay out any longer. So, it became Mommy's job to convince Sayer that it was time to go inside to cool down. Wouldn't you think with his rosey, rosey cheeks that he would be ready for some air conditioning and a cool drink? Think again...

Our first "real" babysitter!

This past Friday night Mike and I went to dinner with my parents and Sayer and Greyson had their first "real" babysitter. I use the quotes around real because aside from grandparents, aunts or daycare, nobody else has ever watched my boys. It takes a certain level of trust to leave your most precious possessions with a babysitter.

Because of that level of trust, there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted Cate to be the first to watch the boys. What is so cool about Cate, other than the fact that she is an awesome kid, is that I watched Cate and her brother for years when they were little. The very first time I watched her was when she was two weeks old. How funny that things have come full circle and she is now watching my boys.

Sayer loves Cate and I know that this will be the first of many times that we will use her. Thanks so much Cate for taking good care of my boys and for making me feel VERY old!

Playing!

Just a few pics of the boys playing together under the play gym.

Whenever I have Greyson under his play gym Sayer loves to get down on the floor with him to play. I have to watch them pretty closely, however, because Sayer still doesn't understand how rough he is being and how gentle he needs to be with the baby. As he gets older and Greyson gets bigger I won't have to worry so much... will I?

Sayer's Very First Piece of John Deere Equipment

A couple of weeks ago Sayer got his very first piece of John Deere equipment from our friends, the Parsons! He got his very own wheel barrel!
For now, he likes getting in the wheel barrel and having someone push him around, but in the near future I know he will be putting many of his toys in it and pushing them around! And in a couple of years he'll be able to help his dad and Bobu do yard work with it! Fun times ahead!

Thanks Bobu, Sarah, Josh and Jared. Sayer LOVES it!

Two months old!

I can't believe that Greyson is already two months old! Wow!! These months have flown. I am down to the final weeks of my maternity leave and am trying to enjoy every last moment with my boys before I return to work. Having the summer months off has been a real treat. We have really enjoyed our days outside and it makes returning to work much more difficult than when I was off with Sayer.

At Greyson's two month baby well check we found out that he weighed 12.7 lbs and was 22.5 inches long. He is definitely starting to get long and can't wear any newborn or 0-3 month clothes as they are too short for him. He is mostly wearing 3-6 month clothes at this point in time. During Sayer's 3rd and 4th months is when he really started packing on the pounds, so Mike and I are anxious to see if Greyson follows suite. I have a feeling that he is going to be big like his brother! Time will tell.

At two months Greyson still has dark hair like his mommy, is smiling a lot and is cooing and laughing out loud. He is sleeping 6 hour chunks and only gets up once during the night to eat. He is a GREAT baby. He is very, very happy and only cries if he is hungry, wet or tired. We couldn't ask for anything more! We love you little buddy!
