Quality time with Uncle J

It's funny... the older that Greyson gets, the more and more I have people tell me how much he looks like Jason. Those that tell me are ones that have known my brother since he was just a little guy himself. I definitely can see some resemblance, particularly when I look back at photos of Jason when we were kids. I can tell you that Greyson loves Uncle J like no other!

Hippity Hop... Hop... Hop!

Easter for the Reik boys started on Thursday and ended on Sunday with the celebration of Christ rising and an afternoon full of family fun!

Ms. JoDe started the Easter celebration by giving the boys little chicks that lit up and M&Ms... their absolute favorite candy... thanks to Ms. JoDe!

Saturday, we went to the annual Easter Egg Hunt at the high school football field. Although it was a little wet and chilly, the boys had a GREAT time and each came home with a basket full of loot!

This year Sayer made great progress... he wasn't afraid of the life size Easter bunny (even though I still was)! He even wanted to sit on his lap for a picture. I was shocked!

That afternoon / evening the boys went to MiMi and PePa's to spend the night, while Mommy and Daddy had a much deserved massage and date night! The boys woke up Easter morning to Easter baskets and Easter eggs hidden all over MiMi and PePa's house. The Easter bunny visited them there and then came to our house to leave them more eggs and baskets.

By the time they made it to our house, Greyson was over the excitement of searching for eggs. He let Sayer have all the fun by himself!

My attempt at getting a decent photo of the boys together in their Easter attire...

at this age it is a very difficult task!

Happy Easter everyone!

Soccer fun... soccer mom!

It's official... I am a soccer mom!

This year we signed Sayer up for spring soccer fun with two of his best buddies Slayton and Aiden. This is the first organized sport that Sayer is old enough to play.

Completely unsure of how he would do with 30 minutes of coaching and drills and 30 minutes of scrimmage against another team... his first game went well! Almost all of Sayer's family was there to watch him play his first game... Grammy, Papa, Mimi, Pepa, Aunt Stacy, Lily, Will, Aunt KiKi, Emma and Uncle Michael. What a turnout!

The hardest thing for Sayer to grasp (as a three year old) was that scrimmaging against the other team wasn't about sharing the soccer ball with each other. He really wanted the ball, but wasn't always able to get it, so that led to a few tears! That's a hard lesson to learn - when most of the time as a preschooler you are taught to share with everyone. I am sure that this will get easier and easier for him to understand the older he gets.

We're proud of you Sayer Michael... our little soccer player!
