these are the days that I live for! On days like this, life doesn't get much better.

Visit to the ENT Doctor
Today Sayer had an appointment with an ENT.
After months of battling double ear infections, he is going to get tubes in his ears! Hopefully after the procedure we will notice a sharp decline in ear infections and we can get away from all of the antibiotics. The doctor said that the tubes should fall out within 12-18 months and then in a best case scenario Sayer will have outgrown the infections. We're keeping our fingers crossed that is the case for our little man.
Wish little buddy luck on Monday when he goes in for the procedure!

Ornery Little Boy!!
Lately, this little boy has become a bit ornery and 100% boy!!

He is happiest when he is beating something with his toy hammer or bat (including the t.v. screen). No matter what we put in front of the t.v. to keep him from accessing it, somehow he finds his way through it or around it and to the screen. We're going to have to come up with something new, because the bins of toys aren't cutting it!!
Not only does this little boy like hitting things and making loud noises, he loves to try to climb things... the stairs, the tables, you name it! I think that we're going to have to attach most everything to the walls in the near future, because he is definitely a climber!

Big Boy Car Seat!

Last week Mike installed the "big boy" car seat into my car for Sayer. It is amazing what a difference this new seat makes to this little boy. He is so much happier looking out the window at the trees and the sky and the sights as we pass by. The only problem with the new seat it that it does not recline, therefore it makes it difficult for him to sleep. His head falls forward and wakes him up and makes him mad. I have ordered a neck roll for support and hopefully that will make all the difference.

First Injury...
Last Thursday I was driving home from work and Mike frantically called me asking where I was. I could tell by his voice that something wasn't right. So, as calmly as I could, I asked him what was going on and he said "Sayer got hurt!" My stomach dropped to my knees, but then I realized I could hear him crying in the background, so I knew he was not unconscious (which was a good sign). He then told me that Sayer had pulled one of his toys on top of himself and had a pretty big knot and bruise above his left eye.
can you see the bruise above Sayer's eye?
This, I know, is the first of many battle wounds that this child and if it's just a knot and bruise we are lucky! And the toy... it got banished to the garage by Daddy. I had to convince him that he shouldn't throw it in the trash, because that's where he was headed with it!

Just recently we began using high chairs at restaurants for Sayer. He loves sitting at the table with us while we eat. I think he feels like such a big boy!

Love My Swing!
Sayer loves to swing on my parents porch swing and he loves to swing just as much in his swing at our house. This morning we took advantage of a wonderfully pleasant morning and did some swinging!

Starting out swinging!

Getting a little sleepy!

Down for the count!
Mohawk Sayer!

Mike and I both have the thickest hair that you could imagine... and it's dark too! Where my son gets his super fine, super thin hair, super light colored hair I will never know. The only place that I can get his hair to do anything is in the bath when it is wet. Yesterday I gave him a mohawk!! It turned out pretty good, as long as the camera hit him at the right angle. I took a couple from the side and you could hardly see the hair! I just don't get it - it's pretty funny :-)

7 Months
At seven months I love to sit on my own and play with my toys. I am now rolling all over the floor and can army crawl backwards. I have started to pull my legs up under my belly and raise up on my arms. Mommy says that is the first step to learning to crawl on my own. Hopefully I'll be able to check out the rest of this house on my own soon!Monday, July 6, 2009
Happy Birthday Mommy and Daddy!
Mommy and Daddy celebrated their birthdays back to back on June 3rd and June 4th! I think it's pretty cool that they are one day after the other. We get two days in a row for cake and ice cream. This year we went to dinner at one of their favorite restaurants... Bravo! We sure had a good time!

My cousin Emma really makes me laugh!

I love being with MiMi and Grandpa!

My First Real Food!
On June 2nd I tried real food for the first time. I had squash and I loved it! I looked like a baby bird and I opened my mouth really wide every time my Mommy would make an airplane noise! At the end I sure was a mess though! I wonder what Mommy will feed me next?

After making a mess, Mommy had to give me a bath!
First Day at Daycare!
June 1st marked the first day of Sayer going to daycare. I decided that it would be a good idea to get him enrolled in a school where he could interact with other kiddos. So, he will go to school three days a week, then spend the other two days with MiMi and Aunt Karen.
I was really proud of myself that first day when I took him to school. I did a good job of holding it together until his teacher told me that I could call as many times as I needed to to check on him. That's when I lost it! It's hard to leave your baby with people you don't know!
I left work early that day to pick him up, but every day since has gotten easier and easier. And I love his teachers and his school. I know that he is well taken care of there!

Mother's Day Dinner
Mother's Day evening we went to dinner with the entire family! Sayer was extremely wiped by the end of the night after such a busy day!
